End of School Year Prayer
As this school year, 2021/2022 draws to a close in Loreto College, Mullingar we give thanks for many blessings, even during this difficult time. This year, the closure of the school for the summer holidays coincides with the great Feast of the Pentecost – the coming of the God’s Holy Spirit.
To that same Spirit we pray for our Leaving Certificate students that they will answer questions wisely and carefully. We ask the Lord to protect them during their time of examinations.
For all the teaching and learning that has taken place both in and out of the classroom, we give thanks.
For the respect and care that has been shown, we give thanks.
We give thanks for the friendships that have begun and for those that have grown.
For the faith that has been lived in the daily struggles of school life we give thanks.
For the hope that has lifted our hearts when things were tough, and for the love that has kept us going, we give thanks.
For members of our staff and school community who are sick at the moment, we pray God’s blessing on them and healing for them.
Bless, O Lord, our school community and families as we take our holidays.
Pour out your love and protection on us during these summer months. We pray that we may return to school renewed and refreshed to begin the 2022/2023 academic year. “Be the change you wish to see in the world” during these summer months.
Enjoy your break and stay safe. ☺️
