Young Economist of the Year
Young Economist of the Year is a competition for all students who seek to explore how the world works from an economic/business perspective. It considers all types of issues and topic areas ranging from the individual to the international sphere. This is facilitated via one hour-long meeting per week which takes place on an evening after school.
Loreto College Mullingar has had great national success in the competition over the last decade:
2016: 2nd place in Ireland in the 5th Year category – Amal Mutahir and Rachel O’Connor
2018: 2nd place in Ireland in the TY category – Fionnuala Maher and Ursula Regazzoli
2019: 2nd place in Ireland in the 5th Year category and 1st place in Ireland in the video entries category – Fionnuala Maher and Ursula Regazzoli
