To mark both the special season of Advent and the approaching end of term, we gathered together as a school community to celebrate our annual Carol Service today in the serene and beautiful setting of the Cathedral of Christ the King. As always, it was a most enjoyable and magical occasion with outstanding talent on display. We began with a fabulous performance from Cór an Chroí followed by our wonderful Senior Choir. We were then taken through ‘The Birth of Jesus Foretold’, and our Head Girl, Lauren, led us through our candle lighting ceremony where there were prayers for various different groups, both within our community and beyond. The ceremony closed aptly with a reminder of the virtues of Mary Ward. A special word of mention goes to Deputy Head Girl, Alison, for her truly magnificent and flawless rendition of O Holy Night. All who were involved in the preparation of this ceremony - our choirs, traditional music group, instrumentalists, readers and all the members of our school community - both students and staff alike - must be praised for the wonderful afternoon provided for us all. None of this would have been possible without the commitment and ongoing hard work of our Religion and Music Departments in conjunction with Sr Anna, our Ember Team and Fr. Phil Gaffney who brought everything. Well done again to all.
