Young Economist of the Year is a competition for all students who seek to explore how the world works from a economic/business perspective. It considers all types of issues and topic areas ranging from the individual to the international sphere. This is facilitated via one meeting per week, up to one hour after school.
Loreto College Mullingar have had great success in the competition in recent years:
2016: 2nd place in Ireland in the 5th Year category – Amal Mutahir and Rachel O’Connor
2018: 2nd place in Ireland in the TY category – Fionnuala Maher and Ursula Regazzoli
2019: 2nd place in Ireland in the 5th Year category and 1st place in Ireland in the video entries category – Fionnuala Maher and Ursula Regazzoli
